All In to Vote
In 2014 only 20% of young adults 18-29, and 19% of college students voted in the midterm election. In an effort to improve these numbers, the National Task Force on Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement created All In.
Research
According to a poll done by ABC News, FiveThirtyEight and Ipsos, it found that voters between the ages of 18-34 are less likely to have faith in the political system. The effects of the pandemic, and the challenges of in person and mail in voting are also being felt even in 2024.

As well as insight I gained from asking my peers, and the research given by ABC News and All In To Vote; I concluded that most young voters found voting “not worth it”. Taking time off work to go vote is a hard ask when you are questioning if your voice matters.
The Objective
My objective for this project was to create an attention grabbing social media post that would make voting more appealing and exciting to my generation.
Make people stop scrolling and VOTE!!!
Concept 1: Red, Blue & Purple
I also wanted a bold and memorable design style that will get people excited to go vote.
UPBEAT
BOLD
DIRECT
I wanted to twist the classic, red, white and blue color palette but add an emphasis to purple. To showcase that All In to Vote is a bipartisan organization.
Concept 2: It’s Simple!!
This animation portrays how simple getting registered to vote is.
So simple in fact, you can do it with your morning cup of coffee.
CHILL
PLAYFUL
BRIGHT
After interviewing my peers within the age bracket, 18-29, those who aren’t registered explained that they were “intimidated by voting” or, “didn’t know where to start”.
Process
I hand-drew the main animation in Procreate Dreams. I kept the character animation simple, to not only fit with the messaging but, to also not distract too much from the type.
To have more control over the way the speech bubbles animated on, I used Procreate to draw the line boil on the bubble and keep the text editable. I then copied and pasted the speech bubble layers manually in After Effects, grouping them together with the text to then animate them.
